The idea behind Origami was to capture the beauty of origami through focusing on the intersections of lines and points of contact. Taking away the focus of origami’s purpose of a final creation and focusing on the beauty of the act of creating itself. There are no swans here or frogs or anything else that may be an origami creation.

The result is a series of 44 digital Abstract Expressionist works of art.

So what’s Hatching about anyway?

So what is Hatching about? Well, I’m glad you asked. Hatching is that feeling you get when you make a nice warm cup of cocoa, or like that long lost friend that just friended you on Facebook. It’s a baby’s tear on a windy day.

Not really…

Just pulling your leg. Hatching is anything but those things. Energy, excitement, dynamic, all those words can describe Hatching. Cross hatched lines at different thicknesses create depth. Mid-century colour palettes contradict the energy from the cross hatched lines with comforting and familiar colours.

What to do with them?

These items were designed to decorate a modern interior or any interior where energy and movement are prominent. They are excellent artworks to provide contrast to a peaceful and tranquil setting like a living room or study.

Why I love them?

An awkward Valentine message for an awkward love. Mixed with an abstract background this is the only Valentine worthy of an awkward romance.

What do you give your love on Valentines Day? If she is a fan of the design of Charles and Ray Eames then this Valentine may just be what she wants. This is a variation of the Valentine I gave my awesome wife last year. Now you can give it to your love as well. The original is a one of a kind but that’s OK, this one is just as wonderful.

About two weeks after I gave my wife this Valentine last year we both sat down to watch the movie, Eames: The Architect & The Painter. A documentary about the couple themselves and how they co-operated on much of the work. Well, I have to say that it is not a model romance to say the least. However, they are immensely influential and there are not any other design couples that I can think of that achieved the greatness that they did.

With Valentine’s Day approaching I wanted to create some digital work that would be appropriate to share with your significant other. The first Valentines I created were based on two popular social media sites, Facebook and Etsy. The Like Button and the Favorite Button aren’t just for online purposes anymore. Now you can show your love how much you Like them or that they are your Favorite person.

Abstract Modern Art

Hi, I’m super excited to let you know that I’ve posted all of my works under the It Was Circles series in my artwork section.

So what the hell do I mean by It Was Circles? Ha ha. I knew you were going to ask that. I’m that good at knowing what you were going to ask. Seriously. OMG.

So… Anyhoo… I called the series It Was Circles because although they are unique abstract and graphic modern works of art that are an exercise in minimalism and geometry, originally, they were just circles. I know. WOW, this is genius isn’t it. Well, it just made sense. I know it’s not the most “artistic” title. Not very pompous is it?

• Living in dreams of sawdust.
• My eyes are blue. Give me back my shoe.
• Excavated farts
• Relaxing sunrise volume 2

But none of those lived up to the simplicity of the pieces themselves. So I stuck with It Was Circles.

2×2, 3×3 or 5×5 wtf?

I did 3 versions of the it was circles, experimenting with different grid patterns. THey were 2×2, 3×3 and 5×5. No idea why there are no 4×4. I’d like to say there is some intelectual reason, but not really. There just isn’t.
